the end is nigh.... coming friday our new full length will hit the master studio. coming fall we will focus on new artwork and the general new direction. we are sorry you have to wait a bit longer for the final album, but we are planning a little something in between for you all. keep an eye on our website for more info soon.

the last couple of months we've been working a lot on our new songs. about 12 will probably make it to the new album, which rock like never before. actually it's heavier than rock, we will start recording late july. more info soon.

as we told you before, our drummer is now endorsed balbex drumsticks. late this summer balbex will release a drumstick created especially for our tall woodchopper. you can order your pair too. check our merchandise section for pre-orders. note: the stick on the picture is not the actual stick. the actual type is extra long (yeah!), has a long tip, a 'good grip' and is made out of hornbeam wood.

the coming months will find us underground in the cold and dark bunkers of utrecht, the netherlands, to work on some new material. the songs will be heavy, moody and raw. in between we will come out every now and then for a short tour to try out our new songs. come and meet us while you still can...

at the moment we are working on new material, the writing process reveals a sound somewhere between 'the sand the barrier' and '24 winters'. we trust that you will definitely love this new direction.

we've said it many times before, but now it's really true; the dvd will be released in april! we know there's much blah blah out there, but hey we have to do this ourselves and it's a lot of work, we can tell you that. nevertheless, this dvd is about done, and this baby rocks! we will sell this dvd when we go on our next tour in may and june. in the meantime drop us a line if you'd like to have one of our latest hoodies, shirts or pins. we only have a few copies left.

today is the day!! we are heading for our first gig of the fall tour 2006. we're looking forward to meet you at 'de effenaar' at 'rock city' eindoven. tonight we're planning to play 2 totally new songs and the 2 new songs from the latest album 'we are under reconstruction'.

right now we are preparing our fall tour. you can again expect some new songs. one song will be called '99' and will be quiet and personal. we are also planning playing a new and heavy song.

just so you know, the dvd has not been cancelled, it's just a lot of work!! the disc will be send to the printers in december and will be released early 2007, finally, yes finally.

the new album 'we are under reconstruction part. 1' will be our retrospection, an overview of the first five years of tstgu. these 16 songs are either new, remixed or remastered, and on the '24 winters' songs our original singer has sung now too, and we like it a lot, we hope you do too!

during the april tour, we will perform again in belgium. this time on the groezrock festival in meerhout on the 29th of april. be there!

the spirit that guides us is doing very well in germany. this week 'north & south' made it to album of the week at the visions site , the leading magazine in germany concering the style of music that the spirit that guides us plays.

besides that 'north & south' is album of the week at major the radio station swr/das ding.

this year many sally forth bands will be introduced in germany for real. though many kids already pick up some of our bands, the majority did not. 2005 will change that. at the end of february 'north & south' of the spirit that guides us will be released in germany through alive. later on many other releases will be released there too, like blackstrap, the lionheart brothers, campsite etc. alive also distributes labels like southern records.

a small mistake had entered sally's last mailing. everyone can pre-order (and pay) the new tstgu '24 winters' 10'', the vinyl version of the ep, including 2 bonus tracks. the ep itself can be bought in the dutch and belgium stores after the 18th of november. everyone outside those countries can (pre-)order them at the sally shop, but yes, buying it at your local shop is indeed supporting sally forth! the 10 free sweatbands will be given ofcourse, to those who order the 10''.

finally the new ep is finished and send to print. '24 winters' is much heavier than 'the sand, the barrier', still it's the song that counts! a special limited 10'' (including 2 live tracks from the studio brussel session) will be available during the november/december tour. the ep itself can be bought in all good record stores in the benelux or get it at the sally shop.

the spirit that guides us is in the process of finishing their new ep. it will be called 24 winters. 2 (out of 4) songs have been played live before. the sound will be heavier and you will find different guys singing. the lyrics deal a lot with death and losing people dear. the ep will be available right before their tour in november.

the spirit that guides us becomes the first band ever to play at pukkelpop, herkpop and dour festival in belgium this summer. the organisers of pukkelpop usually demand the bands to play exclusively at their festival, but for tstgu they made an exception !!
